Alderton, St Margaret of Antioch
The Parish Church of St Margaret of Antioch [listing] is in the east of this small Cotswold village beside Church Road. I chose to park on St Margarets Road, the church is at the end of this road.
The tower is at the west end of the Church and the ringing room is reached by climbing the 18 steps of a clockwise spiral stone staircase. Although there are doors on both the east and west faces of the tower the small door opening onto the staircase is outside the tower on the south side. Spare is at a premium, there is not much room for people in addition to those ringing the 6 bells.

I visited for the first time on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 as the second tower [1st, 3rd, 4th] of the Harry Windsor Ringing Centre annual outing.
We did not get off to a very good start, whoever was supposed to open up wasn't there. After some ringing around it was realised that the booking had actually been made for Alderton, Wiltshire! However, someone did arrive and kindly opened up for us, many thanks.
I started by ringing up bell #5 and followed this with ringing the Tenor for Rounds and Call Changes. It is not easy to hear the bells striking.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing ~9-2-0 in A. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Margaret. There is some additional information provided by The Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
