Longborough, St James
St James Church is situated in the North of Longborough [1, 2] a short distance from the Coach and Horses Inn. The churchyard is large and beautifully maintained. Parking is limited but there are a few spots on the roadside between the pub and the Church.
The small ringing room is reached by climbing a steep wooden ladder. the "cozy" room does have some space for those not ringing to sit and has two small windows, one facing outside and to the West which provides some natural light, the other on the opposite wall facing towards the nave.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 4th July 2009 as part of the Centenary celebrations of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers. I rang up bell #5, rang the Tenor for a touch of Grandsire Doubles, rang bell #3 for a touch of Plain Bob Minor and ended by ringing down bell #3. All the bells that I rang were trouble free and rang nicely.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 11-0-2 in F♯. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St James and additional information provided by The Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
