Holme Lacy, St Cuthbert
The church of St Cuthbert in the parish of Holme Lacy is located about a mile southeast of the main part of the village near the River Wye. It was once the estate church of the Scudamore family at Holme Lacy House but church is now redundant and cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust. There is roadside parking near the church.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a wooden staircase and is quite spacious with space for several people in addition to those ringing the 8 bells.

My first visit on Saturday 22nd September 2012 was as the final tower of the WDCRA Southern Branch 2012 Tour.
I started by ringing up bell #4. The rope was very long as were many of the others. I followed with a touch of Stedman Triples, which went well given the tricky bell handling due to the long rope and the very unexpected need to ring a single twice at the back — a first for me! I ended by ringing the Tenor for some Rounds & Call Changes and then down.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing ~18-0-0 in E. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Cuthbert with more information provided by the Hereford Diocesan Guild of bellringers.
