Dingestow, St Dingat
St Dingat's is located in the north of the village of Dingestow. It is located at a bend in the road where there is space to park a couple of vehicles. It must have been quite isolated until the development of a caravan park along the eastern boundary of the churchyard.
It is a rather nice Church in an attractive churchyard. Ringing takes place on the ground floor.

My first visit was on Friday 6th July 2012 with the Four Shires Guild. This was a little taster of the area before the main 2012 Annual Tour the following day.
I started by ringing up bell #5, there were strange noises but I was assured that there were no clock hammers to worry about. We came to the conclusion that the nose was coming from a loose rope guide. There were not many of us so I rang most of the evening. I rang the Tenor for some Rounds and Call Changes. This was followed by bell #4 for touches of Grandsire Doubles and Stedman Doubles, bell #3 for Plain Bob Doubles and back to bell #5 for Plain Bob Minor. Quite nice bells to ring if you ignore the noisy rope guide.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 8-0-9 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Dingat's Church and more information is provided by the Llandaff & Monmouth DACBR.
