Llanarth, St Teilo
Llanarth is just North of the side of the A40 and at first glance it appears that getting to the Parish Church of St Teilo should be straightforward. Unfortunately there is no convenient exit from the A40 so a more circuitous route must be found. Llanarth is a quiet village and parking on the roadside is not a problem.
This tower has a ground floor ring but there is not much room for more than the ringers required to ring the 8 bells. The bells are quite quiet when listened to from within the tower but they are loud enough when you are in the churchyard. I believe that Llanarth is within a conservation area and I saw the first slowworm I have seen in years in the churchyard.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 17th May 2008 with the WDCRA as part of a Mini-Outing. This was another tower with 8 bells and I had three more attempts at a plain course of Plain Bob Triples. I did manage to get to the end each time and on the last attempt I had only a couple of prompts including one at the end to tell me I had finished! I'm sure it will take a while to get this right, I need to get my dodging better, particularly the additional 5-6 dodges but I am still amazed at how well I had done in a couple of attempts when a couple of hours earlier I had not even known what work was involved.
The Bells
Today, the tower has a ring of 8 bells with the tenor weighing 12-2-04. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Teilo's Church.
