Mavesyn Ridware, St Nicholas
The Church of St Nicholas is on Church Lane in the small village of Mavesyn Ridware. There is limited on street parking beside the church.
The church is unusual in that part is built of stone with the rest built of brick.
Inside the tower is a door that opens on to a spiral staircase that leads to a red carpeted ringing room. There are only a few seats and a single high window.

I visited for the first time on Thursday 16th June 2011 as the third tower

of the 260th Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #6. Later I rang a touch of Grandsire Triples on #3, some Rounds and Call Changes on #5 and finished with a touch of Stedman Triples on #3.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 8-3-7 in A. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Nicholas and some additional information is provided by Lichfield & Walsall Archdeaconries Society of Change Ringers.
