I visited for the first time on Monday 24th March 2008 as part of the WDCRA tour prior to the AGM. There is no regular practice at this tower so I took this opportunity to ring here. I rang up bell #7 and rang Rounds and Call Changes. The chap calling the changes, who called to the front, had a very good ear and "coaxed" people into precise timing. We rang quickly and I must admit it did sound very good. These were a nice set of 8 bells that were quite easy to ring and sounded rather nice.

I visited for the second time on Saturday 12th June 2011 prior to the Quarterly meeting of the WDCRA Southern Branch.
Since my previous visit I have been making progress on ringing 8 bells and looked forward to trying them again. My first ring was a touch of Stedman Triples on bell #3. There were lots of bobs, singly and not in pairs, which I managed my way through all the way to the end. While my striking may have left much to be desired getting to the end was very satisfying.
I also managed to get to the end of a touch of Plain Bob Major on bell #4. That one extra working bell compared with Triples and no Tenor to lead off makes things so much more demanding!
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 12-2-4 in F♯. All were cast by John Taylor, Loughborough, in 1948. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Andrew and more information is provided by the Worcestershire & Districts Change Ringing Association.
