Inkberrow, St Peter
St Peter, the Parish Church of Inkberrow is situated on the eastern edge of the village. It is set in a large attractive churchyard with extensive views to the east. The tower is a large solid square affair which provides plenty of room for ringing with access via a spiral stone staircase inside the tower. The ringing room is provides plenty of room for ringing the 6 bells the room also contains a large clock mechanism.
I visited for the first time on Thursday 19th April 2007. The first task was to wind the clock! The ringers were pretty good and performed several methods which were well beyond my capabilities. I rang up bell #3. I also rang a couple of plain courses of Plain Bob Doubles on bell #3. I rang both the treble and the tenor for Grandsire Doubles with bobs and singles which kept me on my toes. They also persuaded me to have a go at Plain Bob Doubles on bell #5 which I managed to struggle through but it was a bit rough.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 10-2-4 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter and more information is provided by the Worcestershire & Districts Change Ringing Association.
