Shrawley, St Mary
St Mary's, the Parish Church of Shrawley required some "exploring" and circuitous driving to locate. The tower is built of the local sandstone. It is a nice little church with no staircase since ringing is from ground level which means quite a long pull.
I visited for the first time on Saturday 9th October 2004 as part of our 2004 tour.
The Bells
The bells were cast by Thomas Rudhall in 1772.
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 9-0-10 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at All Saints and more information is provided by the Worcestershire & Districts Change Ringing Association.
