Worcester, St Martin
Old St Martin's (or St Martin's-in-the-Cornmarket) Church is situated in the middle of the city of Worcester on the west side of the City Walls Road (A38). If you need to park there are several car parks nearby with one right next to the church.
The Old
qualifier refers back to the intention at the start of the 20th century that this church would close and that a new church dedicated to St Martin would be built in the east of the city. The construction of Church of St Martin with St Peter started in 1909 and both churches are still operating.
The ringing room is reached by entering a door in the south side of the tower and ascending a short wooden stairway. There is not much room for anyone not ringing if all 10 bells are being rung.

I visited for the first time on Monday 1st April 2013. The tower was one of those open for ringing prior to the W&DCRA AGM. There were a lot of people who wanted to ring here and the only time I rang was on the Tenor. The 10 bells we rang are all new bells so it should be no surprise that they were quite easy to ring considering how light they are.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 10 bells with a tenor weighing 6-2-17 in B. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Martin. No information on the bells history or inscriptions was to be found in the tower.
There are in fact 16 bells in the tower. The previous ring of 6 bells (13cwt in G) hang above the new ones in their original frame and are rigged for chiming.
