York, St Michael's Church, Spurriergate
The bell tower at Spurriergate Centre is part of the former parish church of St Michael that closed in 1984 and is now a restaurant, cafe and shop.
The ringing room is on the first floor beside the cafe. Before ringing we had to clear the area of tables and chairs, at the end we put them back again.

My first visit was on Saturday 10th October 2015 as the fifth, and last, tower [1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th] of the Offenham ringers outing.
During our visit I rang all 6 bells, bell #2 was a bit flighty. It was the end of the day and I cannot recall what I rang on any particular bell, I do rememer ringing up and down as well as Rounds & Call Changes. We also managed Plain Bob Doubles, Plain Bob Minor, Grandsire Doubles and Stedman Doubles.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 8-2-14 in A. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at Spurriergate and more information is provided by the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers.
