Coughton, St Peter
The Coughton Parish Church of St Peter is in the grounds of Coughton Court, a National Trust property. Access to the church is a little tricky as the gates need an authorised person to open them. I arranged to meet the tower contact outside the gates.
The ringing is quite small but very light with a large arched stained glass window facing outwards to the west and another large arch with a banister opening on to the nave. The room is reached by climbing open stair up through a trapdoor.

I visited for the first time on Wednesday 11th July 2012 to join their weekly practice.
I rang almost continually and managed quite a variety of methods. I started by ringing up bell #3. This was followed by a touch of Grandsire Doubles on bell #2 and Stedman Doubles on bell #5. Next we rang a couple of plain course of Five Rings Doubles, a bit rough be we got to the end. Then, a first for me, some plain courses of All Saints on bell #2 followed by a touch of Plain Bob Minor on the Tenor. I ended by ringing down bell #4. I was made very welcome and enjoyed the evening ringing such a variety of methods and trying all the bells except for the treble.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 11-2-20 in F♯. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Peter.
