Knowle, St John the Baptist
The parish Church of St John the Baptist, Knowle is near the junction of the High Street (A4141) and the Kenilworth Road (B4101). On street parking is not really viable but there are nearby car parks.
This is a large church with the tower at the West end. The ringing room is alrge and is reached by climbing a spiral staircase. The entrance to the spiral staircase is outside the tower in the Southeast corner. It would seem that the ringers here take their ringing very seriously with some records of long peals including a record peal of Stedman Triples, 20160 changes, which was rung on 9th May 1981.

My first visit was on Thursday 18th February 2010 as the fourth, and last, tower
[1st,
2nd,
3rd]
of the 244th Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
It was a cold day and had just started to snow. I rang a plain course of Grandsire Triples on bell #3 and the Tenor for a touch of Grandsire Triples. The snow had continued to fall while we were ringing and when we emerged a lot had fallen. It was a long, slow drive home with a couple of nutters seemingly oblivious to the conditions.

My second visit was on Wednesday 24th April 2013 to ring a Quarter Peal.
I rang the treble for the Quarter Peal. After initially failing we succeeded on our second attempt to ring a quarter of Plain Bob Triples.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 9-3-7 in G. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St John the Baptist and more information is provided by the St Martin's Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
