Stratford-upon-Avon, Holy Trinity
The Church of the Holy Trinity, Stratford-upon-Avon is in the southern part of the town with the churchyard backing on to the west bank of the River Avon. Parking on one of the local streets may be possible but parking in Stratford can be a nightmare.
The large church is set in an attractive churchyard backing on to the River Avon. The ringing room is reached by climbing a stone spiral staircase of 48 steps with the entrance to the staircase inside the body of the church where the nave meets the south transept. It is a large space with plenty of seating for those not ringing the 10 bells but only two small windows.

My first visit was on Saturday 2nd April 2011 to join the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers for their weekly practice session. While I have recently started to feel comfortable ringing on 8 bells I haven't yet got the feel for 10. I bells #3, #4 and #5 for rounds and call changes, Plain Hunt on 9 and Plain Hunt on 10. All went fine and I found that I could follow what was happening when observing Grandsire Caters. The bells I rang went fine though bell #5 was a bit rough, as if the rope was snagging on something somewhere.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 10 bells with a tenor weighing 19-0-2 in E. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at Holy Trinity and more information is provided by the Coventry Diocesan Guild.
