I visited for the first time on Saturday 14th April 2012 as part of the Annual Ringing Tour of the Harvington Bellringers. We spent the morning visiting John Taylor & Co. (Bellfounders) in Loughborough an stopped for lunch at Rothley (heritage) railway station.
Rothley was the first tower [2nd, 3rd] of the ringing part of the tour.
With lots of people on the tour I only got the one ring and that was to ring up bell #5 followed by some Rounds and Call Changes.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 11-02-19 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary the Virgin with more information provided by the Leicester Diocesan Guild.
