Bath, St Michael
The Parish church of St Michael is located just outside the old city walls at the point where Walcot Street and Broad Street merge to become Northgate street. I walked here from the Abbey so have no idea what parking might be nearby.
The interior of the church has recently been and rebuilt and is now really light and airy. I also boasts a very nice cafe.
Enter the church through a door on the east side of the tower (Walcot Street) and climb the 39 step staircase. This leads to a a 17 step ladder into the ringing room. The ringing room is not particularly large, but this isn't surprising considering the elegant, slender tower.

I visited for the first time on Saturday 12th May 2012 as the third tower
[1st,

of the 2012 Tower Outing
of the Studley Ringers.
Ringing for an hour at each church on the tour is a nice change from the usual 45 minutes. I rang up bell #6 and followed this up with some Plain Hunt on bell #7. I then switched to bell #5 for a touch of Stedman Triples, then the Tenor for Rounds & Call Changes. I then rang a touch of Grandsire Triples on bell #2 and ended by ringing down bell #7.
Nice bells.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 8 bells with a tenor weighing 14-1-9 in Eb. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Michael, additional information is provided by the Bath and Wells Diocesan Association.
