Radford Semele, St Nicholas
The Radford Semele Parish Church of St Nicholas is situated between the A425 and the Grand Union Canal in the north of this sizable village. The church is on the north side of Church Lane which affords some limited roadside parking.
The church was re-opened in May 2013 after an extensive restoration made necessary by a fire in 2008 which completely gutted the building. From the outside the only indication of any change is a new roof, inside however, the restoration is dramatic! A superb blending of the old and new.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a very old stone spiral staircase discovered during the renovation. A balcony provides a magnificent view over the nave.

My first visit was on Thursday 12th December 2013 as the third tower
[1st,
2nd,
4th]
of the 290th Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #2. I rang a touch of Plain Bob Minor on bell #4 and ended my visit by ringing the treble for Cambridge Minor.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 9-3-19 in F#. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Nicholas.
The Coventry Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers also have information on the Radford Semele Parish Church of St Nicholas.
