Charlton-on-Otmoor, St Mary the Virgin
The parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Charlton-on-Otmoor is situated on the north side of the High Street near the middle of this small village. When I was there I had no problem parking on High Street.
The ringing room is reached by climbing a steep the stair/ladder with a handrail on both sides up through a trapdoor. The journey down proved challenging for some of our party. The ringing room is nor particularly big but there is room for several people in addition to those ringig the 6 bells.

My first visit was on Thursday 18th April 2013 as the fourth, and last, tower
[1st,
2nd,
3rd]
of the 282nd Mid-week Outing
of the
Four Shires Guild.
I started by ringing up bell #5. Later I rang the treble for Double Oxford.
The Bells
The tower has a ring of 6 bells with a tenor weighing 14-3-18 in F. Dove's Guide includes details of the bells at St Mary the Virgin and more information is provided by the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
